The South African Master of Ocean Sciences (AOS-SAMOS), is a joint Master programme organised by nine leading South African universities and three European universities in the field of marine sciences, supported by the EU ERASMUS+ CBHE programme for 2025-27. The AOS-SAMOS Master programme contains coursework and a minor dissertation, and helps to prepare students for the rapidly evolving demands of the blue bio-economy as well as research on the sustainable use of marine biological resources and conservation of marine ecosystems along and offshore of South Africa's coastline.

The applications for 2026 AOS-SAMOS Programme are now open. Applications will close on 31 August 2025.
